Information about The Green Man
The Green Man is a traditional village pub offering great food, friendly service, real ale and a great outside eating area for warm days and evenings. The pub formed part of the medieval village, which was gathered around a triangular village green that is still recognisable today, although it has been built upon. The pub incorporates a late medieval timbered hall house from the 15th century.

Trumpington borders Cherry Hinton, Grantchester, Great Shelford and Little Shelford. There is evidence of Iron Age and Roman settlements and by 1085 there was a thriving community noted in the Domesday Book. The village has a long association with agriculture which was extended in 1955, when the Plant Breeding Institute, originally founded as part of the University of Cambridge's School of Agriculture, moved to a site adjoining Maris Lane.
